Accessing global talent - International recruitment opportunities

Staff attraction and retention are ongoing challenges for Squamish businesses and organizations. When local talent is limited, exploring international recruitment can open the doors to new opportunities and solutions.

The District of Squamish had the pleasure of welcoming two labour and immigration experts: Aireen Luney, Manager, Program Development & Promotions, Immigration Programs Branch, Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Darcy Bromley, Outreach Officer, Domestic Network, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. They joined us to facilitate a workshop, organized by Economic Development and the Squamish Chamber of Commerce, to support local businesses by informing and educating them about provincial and federal labour immigration programs and pathways.

For those who were unable to attend, and attendees who would like to find out more, please find the presentation on federal labour immigration programs and the presentation on provincial labour immigration programs. The information provided in these slides was current as of June 29, 2022. As changes to programs and criteria occur, please refer to the federal and provincial websites for the most up-to-date information.
